Consumed over two days, best on day one, and when warmed almost to room temperature. Overall, the wine shows the "ponderous" quality of Savennieres, with changing floral and fruit qualities that seem fleeting. Nose predominantly of floral and waxy elements with sweet element, palate that tended toward peach at first, then settled into dried apricot, mid-palate of creamy, cool, almost-minty quality with hint of minerals, zippy acidity, and long almost off-dry finish. Much better fruit and balance day 1 than day 2. Unlike other Baumard bottlings of Savennieres (Clos Papillon, Trie Speciale) that tend to require age to show their glory, I think this wine is great to drink now.
