A fabulous bottle, worth the wait. I would endorse Cannym's note. The wine is fully resolved, but still has tremendous intensity, both on the nose and on the palate and finishes long. It went perfectly with a Beef Wellington. I think it will hold well for a few years, but it's fully ready now.

Perfect condition after 20 years. Beautiful fragrance. Plenty of fruit, not overblown but integrated into the complex structure. Tannins just noticeable, subtle but helping to balance the fruit. Long. A really fine wine—not a blockbuster like (eg) the Armagh or some big Barossas, but more like a fully mature top northern Rhône. Sad that I only have one bottle left.

a bit of leather and mustiness (could have been the glass), dark cassis, oak, moderate creamy-milky mouthfeel, pretty good. Taylor's Steak House Dirty Dozen dinner.

Good, but not great bottle, touch of browning on the rim and fading somewhat on the palate.
