  • Blind holiday wine night Italian theme. 4 were fantastic and only the last on the list was just good to above average. The majority had our 5 entries finish in the following order, 2010 La Spinetta Bionzo Barbera d’Asti Superiore, 2011 Villa Canestrari Amarone della Valpolicella 1888 Riserva, 2012 Fattoria Le Pupille (Elisabetta Geppetti) Maremma Toscana Saffredi, 1997 Gaja Langhe Nebbiolo Sperss & 2000 Azienda Agricola Sant'Elena Merlot Ròs di Rôl. Needless to say this was a very special evening.

Couldn’t be more disappointed in myself for not opening this sooner. It has been such an amazing wine in the past and although it was good to above average it was nothing like it was a few years back. A really good wine I hope I can find a newer vintage to replace soon.

  • Wine Watch Best of 2008 Tasting (Ft. Lauderdale, FL): A merlot styled in the Pomerol fashion, but without the smoke or leather I get from those. An elegant, medium body merlot.
