Sunday Lunch with Raveneau Chablis and Chave Hermitage (Piccino Restaurant, San Francisco): Medium yellow. The only Raveneau to show any sulfur today, but also bruised apple, pear, incense, and spice on the nose-quite an aromatic smorgasbord. Dry. Incredibly silky mouth feel and volume although not quite the scale of the 2001. Shockingly fresh, great acidity for a 1995, and a long, stony finish. It has been a long time since I've had a 1995 French white Burgundy, but my recollection, this one runs circles around most of them in having much firmer, well defined structure. A real revelation in that sense.

Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Château de Meursault): Small glass. Very big and powerful with plenty of yellow and green apple, nicely fresh enough. Lots here, if not perfectly harmonious. Best I can ever recall for this wine.

Minty, distracting - bumpy and not at its best.

Still incredibly fresh. Rather pleasantly surprised. Very balanced with good acidity and body. Deep golden color that is typical of Raveneau

La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Dense and still nicely firm, just less complex and texturally exciting than I expect from well aged Raveneau.
