  • very funky nose but nicely balanced old world style pinot.

  • No brown edges but seems to be at the peak of its enjoyable age. Needs a quick decant or a few minutes in the glass to lose the alcohol. What's left is a rather leathery, terroir driven pinot. On the palate it bears similarity to carneros with less raspberry fruit. It has a nice acidic presence to cover a slight bitterness in the mid-palate. Balanced on the whole and here's the kicker.. I found this for $3.97 on closeout at my local wine store - what!?!

  • It sports darker fruit, greater richness, and more density than the Classic cuvee while also displaying excellent Pinot character and excellent pricing.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. On the nose cranberry, raspberry, cherry, mushroom, clove and tobacco. On the palate like cherry, raspberry, mushroom, vanilla and clove. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

  • Nice smooth cherry cola pinot notes, but far too much barnyard funk for me. If this blows off by the second night, I'll up my score, but right now this wine is totally unbalanced.

  • Fruity nose, very strong acids but strong tannins considering the pinot varietal makes the wine feel balanced. Fruits could dominate more, but the strong fresh acids makes partly up for that. Finish medium considering length and complexity.

Overall a fresh wine, i reckon good as a starter for a wine menu containing more heavy varietals such as syrah or zinfandel

What i really like about this wine and the reason im going to buy it again: the price. For $20 its a bargain.
