Cork soaked completely through (horizontally and vertically), so this may not be a fully representative bottle. Good Karthäuserhofberg expression of terroir with stony minerality, but the sugar/acid play lacks sharpness. Cellared since original release.

Mid lemon-gold Distinct aromas of white flowers, lime blossom and lemon slices. Off-dry wine balanced by a fabulous line of apple-fresh acidity, low in alcohol with a glassy texture. Flavours show classic tertiary lime-y notes, lemon powder, cut green-skinned apples and Galia melon. As the wine opens, there are slivered almonds with a floral kick and tenacious length. Drinking beautifully.

(Eitelsbacher Karthausherhofberg Spatlese) More nerve and acidity than the '05 but less thrilling fruit. Nose has more green elements like celeriac and sugar snap peas but by no means underripe. Lean and crisp but classic.

Drinking very well at the moment. I don’t think this will improve further. Drink up!
