Pale greenish gold color in the glass. Lots of fresh apple and peach in the nose. Great fruit flavor on top of some minerality. Great acid to balance things out. Still fresh and young and delicious. Drank with a lightly spiced pork tenderloin with an apple cider and pomegranate sauce for an almost perfect match.
What a nice qba--if this is any hint of how Schaefer did with this vintage, I'll be happy when I open the spatleses down the road. Very pale gold; green apple and slightly peach aromas, lots of body and texture for a qba. Very lush fruit with an underlying mineral and acid framework. Almost a red fruit hint on the finish. Good bottle, excellent value.
Terrific stuff. I think this is #2, but I'm not sure I am reading the AP # and bottle properly. It seems to have a lot of stone going on. Possibly some evergreen, menthol, and Macintosh on the nose. Crisp, light on the palate. The structure is quite compelling and I think this will reward a few years if you can muster up the patience.
