Double decanted this for 24 hours, concentrated nose of black fruit, black olives and a roch of earthiness. Balanced, yet extracted palate, tight black fruit, the aforementioned black olives, with the oak poking through. A restrained, concentrated wine,....I'd give it more time.
I liked this a lot. It was deep in color, flavor, and body. It still needs some more cellar time to meet my expectations, but it was a nice drink of wine and especially for less than $16. It was great with food now, though. I will certainly buy more. Nice!
A glass of this wine will show a very narrow halo of purplish-red surrounding a well of almost inky blackness. It is a moderately aromatic wine with a dark, ripe fruit aroma with a hint of leather and vanilla. Seems to be a very concentrated wine with rich, ripe fruit notes paired with very well-behaved tannins that while expressing themselves, don't steal the show! All in all, it seems very balanced with a medium-long finish that leaves a very pleasant lingering palate, almost chocolate-like. Would definitely buy again.
