Clear, medium (+) garnet in color. The nose is clean, medium in intensity, and showing a fair amount of wood influence. The palate is dry, the acidity is medium (+) as are the tannins. The tannins are surprisingly prominent, particularly given the age. The alcohol is medium (+). This is a well-balanced, medium-bodied wine with a medium (+) flavor intensity and a medium long finish of predominantly black cherry and black plum flavors. This is drinking well now and may have another couple years before being fully mature. This is a very good, age-worthy wine which is almost too good for the price point.
I would agree with AGILENUT's notes. But I think the wine scores higher. Had this around a year ago and again last night. It's not your normal chianti, it's big, bold and wonderful. Glad I have more for years to come.
