Almost timeless, this does taste mature but holding up really well, sulfur has kept this fresh for a long time and will continue to slowly age if well stored, paired with lobster and butter- mmmm, decadent texture, oily and viscous with enough acid tension to not be flabby, a surprise if you weren't familiar with Hansel like my host and me.

Excellent showing last night at our wine group double-blind dinner. Most of the group thought it might be a white Rhone at first, but as it warmed slightly in the glass, Pablo and perhaps a few others picked up on the Cali chardonnay nose. The 2010 vintage are gone from the shelves, but I definitely will be looking out for more current vnbtages of Walter Hansel single vineyard chards

- Aromas of pineapple and honey. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of butterscotch and vanilla with a light/medium body. Narrow texture with a long finish - Served with crab, lobster, corn chowder on a cool fall day. Perfect match.
