Opened to a dark coloring (restaurant lighting made it difficult to see). A nose redolent with black fruit, some loamy earth and a little beef. Rich on the tongue and smooth as the tannins have receded. Probably at its peak.

Drinking well now, not past it's prime at all and should drink well through next year at least. Fruity, with balanced acids and mild tannins. Well above average Cotes du Rhone and great value.

Deep ruby in color, this wine follows with nice aromatics of black raspberries, dried herbs and loamy earth. It is medium-bodied and round on the palate, with light-to-medium polished tannins and flavors mirroring the nose. The alcohol remains in check as long as the serving temperature remains below 65 degrees Fahrenheit...keep an ice bucket handy so that the temperature can be titrated to 60-65 degrees. Solid in the middle, it concludes with a medium-length, smooth finish. This is a very nice wine which exceeds its pedigree. Enjoy it over the next three years. Drink now-2016.

Cherry and blackberry with hint of pepper and slight acid. Still needs time to open, but is wonderful now.
