From the list at Alma Nova in Hingham, Mass; 97% Syrah + 3% Viognier; 125 cases produced.
Color: deep ruby core -> medium deep ruby rim. Crazy old world nose of sour cherries, cranberries, a little earth and (am I just imagining this?) hours-long smoked pork briscuit. Palate was lean and mean and showing that smoke, sour cherries and slow-roasted cochon and while it was delicious with food Italiano, the tart acidity was pretty bracing. Once again, tasted like it was from Italy, not Cali and that's a compliment to my mind. I'd buy this again if I could find it in a shop just to track how it develops; to my palate, wines high in acid generally age tremendously well and I think this could do the same. Get this if you're interested in a new world Syrah in old world clothing with the proviso that you have to love acidic wines.
