Smells of musty wood and Sauternes-like notes; sweet but without notable ripe fruit notes on the palate; reminiscent somehow of a vin jaune, especially on the finish. Nothing special, but it would be interesting with spicy food as a Spatlese substitute. 13% ABV. (85)
Update: 2 months later, I've finally found something to pair it with: a green chile and apple pie with a cheddar-walnut crust; try it with a nicely spiced (cinnamon, nutmeg etc.) strudel! (87)
