There's cinnamon on the nose. Chestnut coffee too- and is that blueberry?…
First sips- at pop n pour- had some heat that eventually burned off.
No displeasing tannins, eight years in and those have shipped off nicely. The cohesive balance really shined through. A velvety, jammy, luscious beverage after an hour open. A real treat.
Great balance, as it rolls in a bit smoky, some dust, then it’s gone, fruity- then smooths out to an earthiness, but not old-dirt-like… An hour aeration and, like our past Plexus (2008- enjoyed in May '18), it has evolved into some downright Down Under wizardry.
Again grateful for Asiago cheese, our homemade sausage and red grapes; each of which shared our palate with this bold juice.
Well put together, an integrated whole.
And the finish goes on.
This bottle showed NO signs of being near extinction. We could have left it in the cellar for another year or more, but tonight, as the movie got going, the wine Turned ON!
From pop-n-sip (89 pts) to completion (93), it just kept getting better.
Enjoy!

This is still a young rascal.
However, beautifully tightly knit. This is old style, restrained greatness in a bottle. Would love to find more!
Great today, even better ten years down the line.

Delicious. Drinking perfectly right now. Even slightly better on 2nd night after chilled overnight storage.

Tasted double blind in "interesting reds" tasting.
Guessed new world Syrah blend.
Dark cherry, blackberry, saline on nose- full body, good acidic structure & medium+ finish with integrated tannins.
This drank very well -92+/-
