For those of you that gave up on this wine, your loss. The acidity is now well refined and balanced. Baked apple, vanilla, buttery and creamy. Delicious with scampi. Not sure how much time it has left but i'm buying what's left from the local distributor!
Drunk a while back, so no formal notes, but this was a strong rendition of a rich and layered Chardonnay, one with enough well-hidden acids to keep its nerve. Drinking even better on day 2 out of large bowl at warmer temperatures.
I believe this particular vintage has quite a bit too much acid for the type of Chardonnay it represents. Not that it is a bad thing, but it is not what I expected when I asked for a round, full bodied Chard! The acid exhibited by this wine at this time will cut through any food good and bad, but will allow this wine to age for an easy five years before showing age. The Vanilla notes are very sharp and angular. The fruit is very tight and citrus in character and more Sauv Blanc like than a Chard or Burg! EG WineArchitect, #Stonestreet
