(Lacoste-Borie (Pauillac)) The second wine of Grand-Puy-Lacoste, this is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 55%, Merlot 40% and Cabernet Franc 5%. A rich, open and spicy nose here, still with a reserved edge though, but not so restrained as some. The palate feels quite cool and relaxed, with a rather juicy and approachable style to the fruit. Despite this soft and supple character the tannins are certainly here, although and they are well hidden, integrated even. It is a very good effort in a difficult vintage, but it makes for a lighter style and should provide unfussy drinking pleasure.
