This is a good example of WA malbec, but falls short of the WS expectations. It was certainly characteristic of a WA malbec with its violet colored glass staining, dark fruit, and subtle herbal notes, but lacked the depth I would associate with a 94pt wine. While better on day 2, it still didn't develop the way I had hoped. I will wait 1 or 2 years before opening the second bottle to see if it develops more. Not disappointing, but a but underwhelming.

(Sparkman Cellars Preposterous Malbec Red Mountain) A completely opaque wine with plum, white pepper, and abundant mineral notes. The palate is rich and intense with soft fruit flavors and more tannic structure than typically often seen in this variety. Hangs on the finish
