Beautiful, mature CdP. Ruby with some brownish tint. Transparent at the rim, about a finger wide. PnP'd into Schott Zwiesel Forte Burgundy glasses. Muted nose of cherry, garrigue and leather. Tastes of intense red fruits, garrigue and leather ( a subtle amount of Brett is present). Impeccably balanced with a 30+ second finish. This is what I love about CdP!
Might be the single best CdP I've ever had. An experienced taster in our group was convinced this was Northern Rhone Syrah, which is a high compliment for a wine with this much Granache. There is no heat. There is no glop. Remarkably layered and classic, and cascades like the last ten pages of a great thriller. I want more of this.
Dark purple color. Hedonistic nose of black fruit, baking spices, leather and dark licorice. Intoxicating. Concentrated dark fruit, figs, spices and a touch of licorice root on the finish. Wonderful purity of fruit. Nice acidity and balance. A knockout of a wine.
