Among the top 3 wines I have ever tasted. Way better than the '09 Dominus. Lush, powerful, perfectly balanced. As smooth a finish for a wine this big as one can imagine. 45 min decant, then had this with a filet-a slice of heaven. No way I could hold on to another bottle for the ten years in the cellar it deserves.
95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot. Gorgeous nose of black currant, liquorice, and asphalt. Big and bold in the mouth, but not overripe, with integrated tannins, nice acidity, and a lingering finish of dark fruit and spice. Good now through 2025.
A Matter of Taste: London Edition (Saatchi Gallery, Chelsea): Perfection on the nose, an absolutely flawless combination of restrained fruit, mild herbs and cut flowers. I could not look away. Amazingly approachable, powerful yet in perfect balance. Plums, soy, grippy tannins. Such a baby but it should not take long. Menthol, herbs and tar on the finish. Easily the WOTF.
