Not decanted, GlassVin stems. This was excellent Syrah, and (I don't say this often) it could have been a blind ringer for a good Northern Rhone. Red cherry, black licorice, black peppercorn...all that fruit and complexity in a lighter-bodied wine. Somewhat atypical (in a good way) for Washington Syrah. This is drinking well, but could likely even improve a bit over the next 2-5 years. Shame I only have one.

Drinking well at year 10. Nicely integrated, smooth, flavorful, and downright delicious. Blackberries, plums, cracked pepper, and baking chocolate. Holding up well with some time left for sure. Drink now - 2025+.

Decanted 1 hour. Dare I say this needs more time? Still quite tight and tannic, with berry fruit, white pepper and tobacco. Fairly acidic as well. Day 2 (saved in a 375ml) it hadn't changed much. Drink now with air - 2025.

P&P. Still quite acidic for a 6 year old, this Syrah has lip-smacking fruit to back up that acid. Raspberry, plum and espresso flavors prevail. This was still drinking very well on day 3, with the acidity tamed somewhat. Drink now with air - 2020+.

(Kerloo Cellars Syrah Les Collines Vineyard Walla Walla Valley) A lightly aromatic wine with smoked meat, cherry, raspberry, black pepper, chocolate, mineral, and violets. The palate is light bodied with fresh, pure fruit flavors, chalky tannins, and mouthwatering acid. All about elegance, this wine still needs some time to fully come into its own. 100% Syrah (35% whole cluster). Aged 17 months in French oak (12% new). 13.8% alcohol. 92 cases produced.

Popped and poured. Nice red fruit and tannins. Great texture to this wine. A really nice showing. Still young yet, needs more time and a decant.
