Very dark, ink like purple hue. Has a prominent floral bouquet with a hint of molasses. Medium-light body. On the palate it's very subtle at first, almost ambiguous, but then the fruit gets through pleasantly. Hints of premature cherries and plum with a little orange peel, but not much more. The finish isn't as smooth as the intro, and it's not complex, but it's almost satisfying with hints of spice and fresh grass. A slight sour note signals that the wine should sit for a year or two longer to reach it's potential. I won't seek this one out again to see if it does.
Pretty good QPR. For the money, this wine always has quite a bit more structure and power than many others at this price point. Tannins still a little drying, but good fruit and length. Drink now or hold for up to 2 years.
