Gala Dinner at Antonio Galloni's La Festa del Barolo (Del Posto Restaurant, NYC): Another terrific showing for this "off vintage" riserva from Bartolo's dad. Ethereal, sweet cherry nose. Fully mature, elegant. Very long finish. A treat to have again. A rare birth year wine for me.

Bartolo & Giulio Mascarello: 1952-1971 Barolos of Cantina Mascarello (Bar Boulud, NYC): Sour cherry nose. Still opening up. Smooth. Sweeter as it gets more air. Not quite as good as the bottle I had a couple of years ago, but still amazing for this vintage.
