After about an hour decant this started to open up and integrate. It improved over throughout the evening and paired well with spicy pizza. I think it needs more time to lay down. I plan to go back to the 09's for a while.
Almost forgot home much I enjoy Cadence wine with their finesse. Cedar and sandlewood with bright fresh black cherries followed by a bit of graphite and green peppers. Such an elegant wine making style that i really enjoy.

(Cadence Coda Red Wine Red Mountain) On first pour a waft of earth rises up from the glass followed by an explosion of wound up currant, raspberries, cherries, plum, mineral, and floral notes. The palate is tightly wound with tart fruit flavors, firm tannins, and vibrant acids lifting the frame. A very serious wine at this price that needs a couple hours open to fully reveal its charms. 44% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot. 14.4% alcohol.
