Medium garnet with even bleeding. Nose has strawberries, raspberries, vanilla and tobacco. Massive fruit on the palate with a big finish. Muscular if a bit uncouth.

First night notes. Medium dark purple. Very thick legs. Very full nose showing some primary fruit and secondary notes of menthol and sous bois. Clocks in at 14.2% a.b.v. and it's a bruiser. The palate is full and a little fleshy and starting to show the pleasant qualities of aged Oregon Pinot. However, there's nice balancing tannins and acidity. The back label states that this wine was aged in 100% new oak and you can taste it. The only shortcoming to this bottle is the finish, which is overly tannic and bitter (relative to the fullness of the rest of the wine), might just be my imagination, but it seems to be a caryover from the OAK. Still, it's very nice bottle.

Aged very nicely, but glad I didn't wait much longer. Elegant and balanced.
