Big, concentrated blueberry and cassis flavors, both on the nose and in the mid-palate. Long graceful finish too showing resolved tannins and nice acidic structure. It paired well with grilled steak and vegetables. Served after a 15 minute decant. A great wine at its peak which should stay there for several years.

Dinner at Malbec in DC (Washington, DC): Odd duck, this one. Very weird when opened and never really came around except with food. Had nice big fruit and moderate tannins but it felt unbalanced except with the food.

dark red, ruby rim - black fruit (blackberries, blueberries, cassis) with abundant chocolate and , which I always look for in a quality malbec - same big fruit in the mouth with a rich sweet fruit quality - tannins high but ripe - good acid balance - long 20-30 sec balance - this wine is developing nicely but still has years to go - surprised that some previous notes considered this wine over the hill - IMO people drink high quality Argentine malbecs way too early, and this wine makes that point - very enjoyable with smoked ribs now, but will be even better 2-5 years from now (maybe more!)

May have been a bit past it’s prime. A little pruney and soft. Soft red fruit did shine through occasionally.
