Pop and pour, drunk over a couple days. On day one, kaffir lime, slate, some orchard fruit, and subtle florals on the nose. Midweighted, with a fine almost gossamer texture that belies its hidden depth. This is not a powerhouse GG, but rather a graceful and elegant wine. It is more about soil and acid than fruit on the palate. Slate, well balanced acid that avoids any shrillness that I suspect was there nearer to release. Citrus more than orchard fruit on the palate, with an apricot pit bitterness that I like. This does very well in '11. I like the contrasts of intensity without weight, lift and freshness with a stony depth. Surprisingly, it lost a little steam on day two, becoming a fatter and a bit flat. Outstanding if not great on day one. 90

Exquisit Riesling on burgundy Level, dense and deep with an aroma mostly of concentrated lemon. Great length.

Light hay yellow; sweet flinty nose; light attack, good acidity, light sweetness, quite good strong body in aftertaste, a bit stoney dry finish
