Screwcap, 13.5% alc. Vibrant dark red colour, belying its age.
Classic blackcurrant, cocoa, with gravel, pencil shavings, tobacco and mint; the aroma is rather primary and powerful.
The palate has concentration and power but no weight. Supple mouthfeel with dusty tannins, perfect acidity, and excellent length. Not fruity; more about dark cocoa, bay, pencil shavings. The oak is surprisingly well integrated.
Opinion: lovely archetypal Cabernet. Oak plays a part, particularly through the finish, but it’s not over-done. This should develop for another decade, though it looked a bit worse for wear on day three.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep ruby colour, with garnet rim and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry and cassis, mineral notes of earth, maturity notes of savoury, pungent spice of liquorice, kernel notes of chocolate, oak notes of cedar. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol, medium (+) body and medium (+) intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry and cassis, mineral notes of earth, pungent spice of black pepper, oak notes of cedar, maturity notes of tobacco. The wine has a medium (+) finish. Conclusion: Very good quality Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon with a fairly intense nose showing great complexity, with black fruit and earthy notes, followed by liquorice and chocolate, and good cedary oak and savoury development. On the palate the wine has good structure and in nice harmony, with the acidity lively and the tannin of silky texture. The flavours are fairly concentrated too with a nice tobacco note on the finish. Finishing with a fairly long finish, it is ready to drink now but can further develop for another 4-6 years.

Stelvin. Medium to full bodied, little to no signs of aging. Beautifully balanced, tannin and oak well and truly tucked away. Lovely mouth feel and most importantly delicious. Reminds me of the great times spent down in Margaret River.

Med to Dark colour, rich red. Smooth, super fine tannins, bright red berry cassis, gentle well integrated oak, delicious. Benchmark Margaret river cabernet, the soft fine tannins and distinctive red berry flavours mark it out.

An excellent wine with chocolate, blackberry, plum, mint and eucalyptus. Firm tannins and integrated acidity provide balance with the powerful fruit. Good length with a nice dry finish. Still has a decade of development ahead.
