Did not realize the Rex Goliath Cabernet was sourced from Chile upon first taste. It doesn't taste like a California Cab. It has a touch of wet tree bark meets cloves and charcoal. This is only a "so so" even considering the super value price tag. There are just enough Cabernet like flavors for modest credibility. About medium bodied. Kind of thin toward the finish which has some questionable "off" flavors.

Smelled inoffensive. Tasted like dishwater with some cough medicine.

I used this to make Gluhwein for Christmas. It served admirably. I would otherwise had never purchased it.

S: woody, earthy T: lots of smoky wood taste up front. Typical berry taste comes in the mid. A standard cab, nothing special, but good for the price.
