A bit of sherry on the nose along with nut fruit and botyris. Lacked vibrancy compared to the 78 Drouhin Montrachet but still showed some freshness for its age.

World's Greatest, Hong Kong - Night II (Garden Suite, Peninsula Hotel): This is the best nose of the Ramonet Montrachet flight. It is the most expressive and showy. Smoke and mango fruit. Spectacular array of spice and dried fruits. Coffee and mocha. This is the freshest and brightest of the flight too. On the palate this has light apricot and the fruit is maturing. Real Montrachet caliber richness and breed. Coming back to all of these and this is just spectacular, knocking down the magnums of '78 and '85 quite easily. Checking notes, the last and only time I had this was at the greatest wines weekend last year, and it was corked then. Massive vindication here.

OCTOBER REVOLUTION CENTENARY TASTING. great fill, still rather light colour for age. Fabulous bouquet: fresh and perfectly poised ethereal, creamy, voluptuous fruit with that lively Ramonet signature fresh-cut herbal-tinged flowers edge. Palate is extremely fresh, quite acid, full-bodied with great concentration of delectable fruit posessing enormous depth and breadth of character, as well as remarkable, finely-etched finesse. Extraordinarily long and refined aftertaste. Should still improve for a few years: not yet really unwound. A truly stunning bottle

World's Greatest - Night III (Per Se): Candied lemon and orange citrus nose with ripe mango. Pina colada coconut aromas. Palate is also youthful and has weightless but expansive yellow and white orchard fruit. Traces of cork. Kapon said notwithstanding the cork this was still the best wine of the flight against the DRC Monts... and one can see how this should be spectacular, but sadly this was infected.

62 Night. Initially reductive aromatics, shockingly so. Eventually burnt creme brûlée. So much energy, freshness. Viscous, incredibly intense.
