lots of red fruit on the nose and some quite noticeable alcohol Delightfully creamy mouthfeel, spicy, oranges, dried fruit, very very nutty, like a tawny port, very long and layered, leather on the finish V. good

Glenmorangie Sample Tasting (Chicago, Illinois, USA): An eye-catching pale rose color. This has a remarkably fruity nose of ripe peach and strawberry jam, with a yeasty and buttery nuance of hot white toast. The palate is deeply infused with a hard candy-like sweetness, with fruity echoes of the nose accented by some woody flavors. The palate has a lingering wineyness, though the finish is a bit short. The port cask finish definitely adds a dimension to the base Glenmorangie malt, but I feel that the trade-off is the loss of some intrinsic Glenmorangie character. The pervasive sweetness of this might make it a nice late-night dessert dram, but I'd caution against spoiling your dinner with it.

(NV Glenmorangie 12 Year Old Quinta Ruban Port Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 46%) Light medium pink orange gold color; Seville orange, light peat, almond, light coffee, tart orange marmalade nose; delicious, dried orange, orange honey, sandalwood, walnut palate; very long finish (extra matured in ruby port pipes)

Nose: Ruby port! Raisin, candy apple, sweet corn, maraschino cherry.
Palate: Wood, orange, rather hot. Didn't feel it lived up to the nose.
Maybe I'll come back to this someday, but this bottle was not doing it for me.

Interesting. I can see the port influence. Like it head and shoulders above the standard Glenmorangie.
