(BOURDINIERE Muscadet) 2007 Muscadet Dear Friends, Boutique Muscadet? If you are into Muscadet, this is as fresh as I can get the virtues of Melon de Bourgogne to you - one week after bottling. As many of you know, my favorite offers are those that release the noose from the endless score chase that most US wine enthusiasts have been raised to participate in. Wine such as this deserves no interpretation, no intellectual banter and no justification for its existence./> After a merely good 2005 (a year with winemaker health issues), and a return to form in 2006, I’m glad to say the Chateau is back with their strongest wine since 2002 - the 2007 Muscadet Tradition, a shimmering summer of love for all of us. If you desire an unpretentious, terroir-focussed beam of white wine, this Muscadet is lithe and stone filled and Bourdiniere is as proud of this wine as they are of their top-class 1996. Highly charged, full of mineral tone, verve and the freshness of just bottled sunshine - Muscadet is a wine to watch in 2007 and many of the vintners believe they made their most reflective wine in years. For some climactic reason, parts of Muscadet escaped the poor 2007 weather in the central Loire and the ear to ear grin on one winemaker after another tells the whole story. This wine is hand-picked and held to strict principles of natural farming. At this price, it would be tough to find a better bottle of white wine for drinking this year. I’ve already consumed my 3 sample bottles (yes, all in one week - call me a glutton but they are very low in alcohol!) and can’t wait for the rest of the shipment to arrive so I can share this wine with all of you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (almost impossible to get this wine under our price with the current Euro exchange - I’m keeping our margin at next to nothing on this - take advantage). This wine will arrive early this summer - just in time for terrace sipping. VERY RARE - only 100 cases for the entire US (as opposed to the usual suspects with 3,000-4,000 cases) 2007 Chateau de la Bourdiniere Muscadet S et M (sur Lie) “Cuvee Tradition” (this wine is higher priced than something like Pepiere) FIRST COME FIRST SERVED at this price up to 12/person until we run out Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Loire9698
