Dark purple color. First a little reticent, opening up in the glass with some air. Amazing notes of dark cherries, cassis/black currant, some flowers, toast, spices, some graphite and some tobacco. On the palate similar flavors of dark fruit, tobacco, some spiciness and cigar. It's medium-full bodied and dense, feels quite rich, but has an amazing balance of medium-high tannin (that is sweet and silky) and medium+ acidity providing nice freshness. Long and complex finish. A super pretty and complete Napa Cabernet that boxes way above its weight class... in today's market of Napa Cab, this is a fantastic value.
I gave it a little better score than last time as it appears to be mellowing out. Tannins have smoothed slightly. Still a bit of an oak monster and I am hoping as the oak and tannins go away this will age nicely. Decanted two hours. On the nose, oak of course wet leather and vanilla and dark cherry. On the palate, black cherry, chocolate and plum The nice thing is this is a well balanced Cab (Bordeaux blend).
