I bought this wine 1 day after my 2nd son was born. We named him Cade Matthew. It was a deal at 90 a bottle. Scary what it costs now... this wine is exceptional and will reward those who pull the cork now.
Color. Saturated red-purple
Nose. The deepest cassis and currant bouquet of any Cabernet from Howell Mountain that I have ever tasted. Cocoa, lipstick, cherry. Just magical.
Palate. Massive fruit, tannins, cocoa powder, anise, more chocolate, and raw power. This wine over delivers on taste. It's an intense experience. Big, big, big. GOAT from my experience of Cade Howell Mountain Estate.

A fine example of Howell Mountain cabernet, but not the best this area or vineyard can offer. Dark fruit and underlying sweetness but didn't have much going on besides the concentrated fruit and smooth but still apparent tannins. The 2007 cade reserve is a much more complete wine, as are a few of their more recent vintages. The cade reserve always requires patience for it to soften. I'd say this is firmly in the drinking window with at least another decade to go. Good bottle but not a great one.
Decanted for 3 hours at cellar temp and then also recorked and finished the next night (tonight). Showed better on the first night. Atypical amount of sediment in this bottle.

Much more integrated today compared to last bottle we had around two years ago. Very dense in flavors: dark fruit, licorice, cassis. Sweet but not sappy. Tannins are ripe/round and not astringent. Very enjoyable.

Opaque and dark color; no evidence of any age by sight alone. Rich nose of macerated blueberries, dark fruit and earthy distant campfire. Lush mouthfeel with dark fruits, mocha and dark chocolate on the medium+ finish. For a CAb so dry, there is an inherent sweetness here...delicious!

Rich opulent nose which is consistent on the palette. Plush mouthfeel with dark fruits and cocoa. Tannins are ripe which creates a lovely texture on the mid palette. A touch pricey, but, still excellent.
