This is a massive wine, but well balanced. Deep purple in color - almost inky. Blackberry, and current, moderate acidity. The 2020 upper end may prove just a milepost, although I think the wine is drinking very well now.
Exploration tasting 2012-2 (Dr. Russell's residence, the Hague): Vibrant ruby, narrow slow-moving legs @ 15% abv (sic). Medium aromas of garrigues, thyme, black plumes, prunes, chocolate. Dry, medium acidity, medium(-) dry tannins, full body and high alcohol. Full of cherries, leather, black pepper and cocoa flavours. Complex, jammy and opulent. Very long, almost sweet finish. A cannonball, Big Wine.
