  • Well, been a good year on since last go. Perhaps not as complex as i suggested, based on another reviewers notes, but still a steel at 18$. Clearly not improving further with age and is time to drink this over 2014 in my opinion.
Nose has again dark light fruit. Palate is med bodied at most, light acid and really subtle tannins (not smooth). Fruit is tart black cherry/blueberry with some very subtle coffee notes in background.

  • Geez, last note by Tarrant is gushing...was somewhat hesitant opening this one, hoping i didn't just buy 6 bottles of cooking wine...Would not take away from Tarrant's thoughts and review. Pretty much similar experience. I just popped and poured a taste, but i think with a little decant and 1-2 C below room temp this will sing as described. Clearly will hold for a few more years as highlighted. For 18$ and from Opimian - steel. Would look for next vintage/offering from producer. Have 5 more to go.

  • Not sure if I'm blinded by the fact that I'm loving Portoguese wines at the moment, or that I've stumbled on the best Opimian bottle we've ever had - Dark, full bodied with a nose of extreme plum, raisin, cherry, spice and vanilla, very nicely structured and balanced, complex, sweet, very smooth on the palate with terrific length, awesome! (91 Points).
