Bought on clearance at DeFine. Opened and decanted for about an hour before tasting. At first, nose was a little reticent, but with another 30 mins in the glass, a nice bouquet of dark fruit like blackberries and blueberries, and a little leather and soy sauce. Still pretty primary though which was surprising to me! Great acid, mouth-filling texture and body, and a little grainy tannin left on the finish. Very awesome and wish I had some more stacked away. Perhaps I'll have to find some...

Decanted about 12 hours. At 8 hours, still closed giving nothing but tannins and dirt. At 12, with pork tenderloin medallions, modest fruit raised its head above the soup of tannins, a bit rustic, but clear, honest, and pleasing. A good wine of its variety in a vintner's year, I'd say, and worth trying, but for now at least requires attention to appreciate. With time in the cellar, could become a classic.

The Ledbury (London, UK): Dark in color. Big and ripe on the palate. Surprised given that it is an 2008 CDR.
