Consumed at Franco's in Pittsburgh. Interesting find on a fairly pedestrian wine list. Supposedly past its drinking window, I found this reasonable for the price ($65). Dark black fruit on the nose with additional notes of forest floor. Very smooth in the mouth with balanced fruit and veggie flavors. The PA LCB is getting the 2005 version of this in on its Chairman's program at $18. I'll definitely purchase a couple based on this experience.
Deep purple-black color. Aromas of ripe blackberry fruit, cassias, and cedar. Blackberry and black cherry fruit with toasty oak and spice on the palette. Tannins and persistent fruit flavors on a long finish.
