So this is pre-historic Grenache, now over 4,000 years old. The best Cannonau comes from the mountains of Sardena. So this is leased vineyards up in those mountains. The altitude is 300 to 700 meters above sea level. The harvest is also very late. So alcohol has always been quite high - 15% on bottle but more in bottle.
Dark and rasiny on the nose. Full on the palate, does pack a heat punch to it. But sure "its balanced".
