Common Italian red wine grapes (Houston, TX): Well balanced with good acidity and juicy fruit flavors of sour cherries and raspberries, with some spicyness and pepper following the tannins. Very refreshing and drinkable on its own.

Oddero Cellardoor tasting (Santa Maria in Langhe): Medium purple with ruby rim, 14.5% abv. Medium developing aromas of dried cherries, berries, raisins, mushrooms, spice, oak (18 months in barriques). Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium(-) tannins with oak structure. Good long dry finish with high acidity taking to the foreground. Not quite ready, cellar 1-2 years.
