Excellent - still going strong. Cork intact in bottle but shattered on removal attempt - the Durand to the rescue. Ethereal Donnhoff nose, complex palate still supported by a nice balance between acidity and a bit of sweetness. The usual perfect pairing with mildly spiced Indian.

Cork on this was a little leaky but no appreciable ullage. this was a little disappointing compared to last bottle...on the sweet side and seemed out of balance. still drank it tho :)

this is beautiful. unlike last bottle cork was perfect. core of acid structure keeps this light and lively. impressive at age 18 and will continue to please for a decade longer. will wait at least 5 before revisiting. my previous conclusion about the RS may have been mistaken. it seems to be settling down nicely

Deep straw in color. Nose of cherries, ripe peaches, and aged apples. Tastes of apple cider, peaches, and oxidized fruit. Medium acidity. Past its prime. Still pleasant to drink. Drink up.

Intense cherry fruit with pineapple accents. Very mild acidity, but such pretty aromas and flavors that it's not a major factor. Not for those looking for electric Riesling, but it certainly expresses the Kirschheck.

(Donnhoff Norheimer Kirscheck Spatlese) Lovely petrolly, mineral and extremely ripe nose. '99 was a very ripe vintage for Donnhoff. Snappy acidity and wonderful Donnhoff dissolving finish. Really at peak. I see no reason to age this anymore.
