Old World Blind Tasting Group $40+ (Bin 75): See through orange crimson with orange rim; rose, slight sandalwood, fainter nose; lighter body, elegant, old school BdM; like many lighter 2007s I hope this puts on some weight with more bottle age.
This wine puzzles me. On one hand, it open and giving, has lovely fruity tones and great terroir (Montosoli) expression. On the other hand, the alcohol is too dominant and it seems quite "warm" all together. Not a wine I would age for a handful of years. And not as elegant as the other vintages I have tried from this producer. It is a pleasure to drink now but not what I had expected, I guess.
