(Maison Bleue Le Midi Grenache Boushey Vineyard Yakima Valley) An aromatic dazzler that boasts pure black and red raspberries, white pepper, garrigue, anise, currant, and mineral notes – this is an aroma profile to spend some time lingering over. Broadens out and expands across the palate with the purest flavors of kirsch and licorice with an herbal accent. Lingers on the finish. The intensity of fruit here is breathtaking with this wine raising the bar for Washington Grenache to new heights. 100% Grenache. Fermented with approximately 30% whole berries. Aged 10 months in 3-4 year old French oak. 14.5% alcohol. 200 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.

Poured a glass straight away and it was okay, but a tad pruny, almost like it was grumpy for being opened. But after a half bottle sat open for and hour, it unfurled into a beautiful wine in its prime. Give some air and enjoy.

Screamingly good now. Decanted for 30 minutes at a restaurant. Heavy white pepper aroma with hints of leather and blue fruit. Palate is peppery with good fruit and a lush mouthfeel. The finish lingers quite a while. Really enjoyed this wine.

This bottle wasn't flawed, just tired and over the hill. Disappointing, given that my prior bottle in October showed so much better.

I could only drink a glass of this - there was some kind of off-putting taste here. I don't think it was Brett, as it wasn't barnyard-like, but it was nasty. It doesn't seem to be mentioned in other notes, so I assume it was flawed in some way.
