Popped and poured, it took about 30 mins to open. Lots of fruit, a little sweetness and typical cherry and blueberry flavors. Enough acid to go with the olive oil in the pasta. Dolcetto is not my usual go to, but I'll continue to keep a bottle or two of this around for the right food match.

Robert Parker calls this Dolcetto "Burgundian" in its remarkable elegance, polish and finish. I'm sorry, but are we talking about the same wine? I found no hint of Burgundian character. The fruit is sharp and way over the top. This reminded me more of a heavy, California Syrah than Pinot based wine. I have one more bottle left to try but I am not looking forward to it. Hey, for $18 -- win some and lose some.

A very fragrant nose of flowers and earthy/marshmallowy fruits, but the pure expression of fruit on the palate is the star here. Layers and layers of tart red fruits mixed with minerals and more of that marshmallow component make for an interesting wine. Nice finish.

Sweet black fruit and a mild vanilla. Doesn't leave you with a long impression, still a great value for a casual red.
