This is a deal. Classic American Pinot nose with spice, cloves, and some of the earthy character of real Burgundy. Typically dark and rich Carneros Pinot. I will buy more. Be sure to get the Carneros TJs Grand Reserve, NOT the Russian River Valley version, which is green and vegetal and less yummy.

Dark purple-garnet color, with aromas of black cherry and rose, plus some notes of either TCA or oxidation at opening which blow off with some airtime. Flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and loam open up in glass, some background tannin and a medium finish. Good, and a standout against the usually-mediocre TJ's private label offerings.
