Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 88.5 points

  • Brownish, orangey in colour, quite evolved and aged in colour. Leafy, leathery, earthy on the nose, quite evolved again. Quite drying and acidic, not much fruit left, tired and flat. Not a great bottle I guess. 85-87

  • Had on back-to-back nights with the 90 Tondonia Reserva at Troquet-Boston ($25, annual cellar-clearance). Decanted at table and drunk over 2hrs. Very fresh and bright, with a big hit of American oak showing as cedar, dill, and tarragon on the nose, but softening and integrating well on the palate. Tangy, juicy, and considerably richer than the Tondonia Reserva, an exuberant wine showing far younger than expected. I'd love to try this again in another 10 yrs.
