Popped and poured from a split with a somewhat wet and gungy cork. This is a light yellow wine with a nose of spring flowers, tangerine, and grass. In the mouth, I get an impression of cooked honeycomb, but the wine more generally is light and fleeting. It does leave a spicy and somewhat tangy finish that seems to have hints of vanilla (odd?). Overall, I found this fairly light for a sweet wine and somewhat boring. This is overpriced. 90 points.
We drank this along side the 04 Hermannshohle Auslese. This wine was darker in color and profile and lacked the same vibrancy and freshness of the 04. Still terrific, though. Caramel color, tropical fruit. Solid finish. Well balanced.
