First time having the opportunity to try and older vintage of Williams Selyem. This was still quite alive, with lovely fruit. Not super complex, but going strong and a pretty remarkable expression for 32 year old Cali PN!

Had this wine last night with Chef Carlo Mirarchi's interpretation of peking duck at his amazing Williamsburg, Brooklyn restaurant, Roberta's. This bottle proves that Williams-Selyems best vineyards like Rochioli are amazing wines that can age if kept well. This bottle had been in my cellar since release from the winery. Everyone thought it was a Grand Cru Burgundy. Amazingly, there was stil fruit on the nose and mushroom notes on the palate. What a treat!

(Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Rochioli Vineyard) Very pale, thin red color; sweet strawberry nose with a touch of lime; mature strawberry fruit with decent acidity (poured blind, and most were guessing old Burgundy)
(Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Rochioli Vineyard) Brett, mature nose; mature, tobacco, tart dried cherry palate, very much like a mature Burgundy; medium finish 91+ pts.
