  • Consistent with earlier notes. Still sweeter than I'd expect but it worked nicely with our dinner of lamb korma. I'd usually opt for a red with lamb but this paired nicely and worked beautifully with the sauce which was the dominant feature of the dish.

  • Signs of seepage and cork soaked through, but after some slight funk on the nose at opening, it cleared off and was fine after 15 min. Golden and medium viscous. It showed light peaches in syrup and honeysuckle flowers. Not quite as clean a finish as I am used to, but pretty relieved overall after seeing the funk on the cork.

  • Fabulous wine, esp. for a Spatlese. A touch of petillance, terrific acidity, and bursting flavors of apple, stone fruit, and flowers. More sweetness than the average Spatlese - can easily use as a dessert wine. We had it with an apple tart. Drinking really well now but will certainly last at least a few more years.

  • Light straw color, not quite honey-colored. Expressive nose of tropical fruit and white flowers. On the palate, pineapple, some slate and a little subtle lemon lift on the finish. A tad sweeter than I was hoping for but that was nicely balanced out by the lovely acidity. I like Riesling but don't drink a lot of it and at first I wasn't sure that I understood the praise that this was receiving. But after a while it opened up - or maybe I paid better attention? - and I came around to really appreciate it. In fact, I couldn't get enough of the mouth watering finish. Paired nicely with a mildly spicy eastern seafood salad. Might deserve a better score than I'm giving it - I'll need to drink more Riesling before I open the next bottle.
