Years ago I would have enjoyed this wine but after more tastings under my belt this is just average at best. A light drinkable Pinot. With all the other choices in the price range I would skip it and probably J with their inflated prices on the higher end wines Color – Light purple Appearance – clarity clear Aroma – Medium ripeness, subdued fruit Body – Medium and smooth in the mouth Taste – Dry, light to very little acid Textures – Smooth Finish - almost nonexistent

The wine is a collage of seamlessly integrated berry and stone fruit aromas and flavors that lead to an elegant, layered palate. With just a hint of floral notes in the initial aroma and a slightly earthy finish.

Wow! Really a significant improvement with some more bottle age. Our last sampling of this was November 2005 and this bottle displayed an even more powerful expression of RRV PN.

Another example of a solid pinot noir from the RRV. This is J's biggest production run of pinot using fruit from their estate and, I believe, some other growers in the RRV. Upon opening there is a nicely fragrant nose that hints of cherries. The wine shows good fruit with a nice mouth filling roundness. There really aren't any tannins evident. As the bottle remains open the wine opens up further, a very pleasant drinking experience. The wine is probably nearing it's peak and will stay at this level for another two years or less.
