I drank this bottle the same night as I had a 1997 Pessac-Leognan. I could have left this Chateau Liversan a couple more years in my cellar. The 1997 Pessac was incredibly smooth. The Chateau Liversan had a significant presence of tannins that might soften with time. As a plus, this Chateau had a nice deep red color and full body. Earthy undertones and cherry notes in mouth. At the end it was a good bottle, but I would recommend to wait 2 to 3 more years.

Still a bit astringent after almost eight years, Definitely noticeable tannins that is still overwhelming the underlying blackberry and currant. Good finish but the tannins need some taming. Average Bordeaux!

Will not improve from here.
Needs a little air though.
